About Us:
Linda Wetherill is Professor of Flute Studies and World Music at Adelphi University.  She has been a member of the faculty since 1994. when she returned home after performing as solo flutist of major orchestras in Milan "La Scala", Frankfurt's Radio  and Paris IRCAM, & being a professor of World music and Contemporary Music in Istanbul.  She continues her soloist-masterclass touring over 5 continents.  Trained at Eastman School of Music with Joseph Mariano, Linda continued her private quest of flute repertoire with Marcel Moyse and Jean-Pierre Rampal  before her selection to be resident soloist for collaboration with the world's leading composers at IRCAM by Pierre Boulez.  A generous teacher who enjoys the success of her students, who are performing and teaching across the  country,   currently serves as flutist and executive director of NYC's Orchestra of Our Time and founder-director of Counterpoint's International Competition for Composers of flute music in Tuscany.

She would welcome the opportunity to deliver you the best flute music foundation and finishing in the industry.   She has invited world-class clinicians that will enlighten you about interepretation of important eras and also the composers who will illuminate and coach their compositions in an informal and comfortable ensemble and master class environment.  The 2010 Global Flute Workshop will include work with composers from Persia and Hollywood as well as winning compositions of the "ConcorsoCounterpoint" to be selected in May.
